13 people have been sickened by a rare fungal infection, never before see in the U.S.
The fungis is called Candida Auris. It resists anti-fungal drug treatments and usually spreads in healthcare settings like hospital and nursing homes.
Seven of the cases were reported in four states.
All of those patients had underlying health problems and had been hospitalized.
Four died, though it's unclear if the fungal infection played a role in their deaths.
Six other cases are still being investigated.
