The day before they began their senior year of high school, the Spangler quadruplets went back to the place they were born to thank the people who took care of them.
Baylee, Kaylee, Brandon and Cameron were born 18 years ago on September 28th at Sparrow Hospital. Each one of them weighed no more than 1 pound, 6 ounces.
On Wednesday, they stopped by the RNICU to see where they spent their first days of life. Sarah Collins, Department Manager of the Neonatal ICU at Sparrow said, "It really emphasizes for us as nurses and doctors and respiratory therapists and everybody, why we do what we do, why we stay up all night, working night shift and long hours and stuff, it's really for us all about the babies."
The nursing staff was thrilled to see the quadruplets walk in. They say when multiple births happen, it means extra hands on deck with each baby getting their own staff.
