Plant-based diet may help with acid reflux

A mostly vegetarian diet may give those who suffer from acid reflux similar relief as some medications do. That's according to research into diet and chronic illness.

Nearly two thirds of patients who ate mostly vegetarian diet showed a more meaningful improvement in symptoms than over half of other patients.

Researchers say the study was not a clinical trial and it's not clear patients would have to stick to a strict diet or make moderate changes in order to see results.
