The Mary Free Bed unit at Sparrow Rehabilitation is one of the few places in Michigan that carries the SafeGait system.
The new system is used to help patients who suffer from a variety of disorders learn to walk again. It also helps patients who have suffered strokes or falls become comfortable walking again.
The system works by placing patients in a harness which is attached to the ceiling. It can help patients eliminate their fear of falling and help teach them to get moving again.
