Lowering inflammation may prevent heart disease

There's new evidence that lowering inflammation in the body may help prevent heart attacks and strokes in those most at risk.

Doctors at Brigham Woman's Hospital in Boston found that patients who received a drug to lower inflammation, were least likely to have another heart issue or die from heart disease 4 years later.

The drug also appeared to lower lung cancer rates.

Researchers say the findings may lead to new ways of treating heart disease patients.
