The manufacturer of children's medicine is voluntarily recalling several products due to microbial contamination.
King Bio announced the recall on Wednesday, Aug. 22, stating that a small percentage of products made between Aug. 1, 2017 and April 2018, tested positive for microbial contamination.
"Out of abundance of caution, we are recalling the products and lot numbers below," a release on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's page read.
Affected items include chicken pox symptom relief medication, children's appetite and weight medication, children's cough and fever relief medication and many more.
King Bio is notifying distributors and customers by letter of the recall. If you're in possession of the recalled items, the manufacturer urges you to stop use of items and contact King Bio at recall@kingbio.com to make arrangements to return products.
"Administration or use of drug products with microbial contamination could potentially result in increased infections that may require medical intervention," according to a news release. " And could result in infections that could be life-threatening to certain individuals."
