High blood pressure now affects over three billion adults around the world.

A new study shows rates of high systolic blood pressure have skyrocketed since 1990.

In fact, hypertension was linked to more than 10 million deaths in 2015 alone and that means high blood pressure has become the leading cause of preventable deaths.

The majority of blood pressure-related deaths were caused by heart disease and stoke.
