Hepatitis C infections reach all time high

An increasing number of young people are being diagnosed with Hepatitis C infections and experts say it's likely because of the opioid epidemic.

According to the CDC, the number of new Hepatitis C infections has reached a 15-year high, nearly tripling since 2010.

Also troubling -- a growing number of infections among pregnant women, which has nearly doubled.

Significant increases were seen in rural areas.  Injection drug use is the main risk factor for Hepatitis C transmission.
