New research links depression in soldiers to brain disruptions caused by head injuries.

Scientists at Walter Reed National Military Center used MRI to scan 130 soldiers with a traumatic brain injury.

They found that brain circuits connected to emotional control were disrupted in patients with depression.

Experts say these findings could lead to new treatments for injury-related mood disorders.
