A growing number of kids and teens are being sent to the hospital for opioid abuse.
Researchers looked at pediatric hospital records from 1997 to 2012 and found a 165-percent increase in opioid poisonings among one to 19-year-olds.
Poisoning among teens that was linked to self harm grew by 140-percent and there was a 300-percent jump in cases where teen's opioid abuse led to an accidental poisoning.
Heroin poisonings among adolescents also increased drastically.
