What: Chad and Borodychuk of DeWitt have received national recognition for their work with their Pillow Project making thousands of positioning pillows and distributing them to Sparrow and hospitals throughout the country to support pediatric Patients to recover in comfort. The work is on behalf of the Olivia Kay Foundation, a non-profit organization created to honor their daughter, Olivia, who was afflicted with Alexander Disease and relied on the pillows to aid in her comfort. Olivia could never walk, talk, crawl or sit up and became bedridden near the end of her life. Olivia was 8 years old when she passed away a year ago and on Saturday, her “heaven date,” her parents will honor her memory with an enduring act of kindness by delivering these kid-friendly pillows to Patients at the Sparrow Children’s Center. The Borodychuks will be available for interviews as they deliver the pillows.
Where: Sparrow Hospital, 1215 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing. A Sparrow Marketing representative will meet media near the Starbucks in the hospital lobby and escort them to the Sparrow Children’s Center.
