We all want to live the best life we can and a big part of that revolves around our brain and our memory. Teresa Strasser met up with Dr. Dale Bredesen to talk about his new book The End of Alzheimer's and he’s sharing three important tips to help prevent the progressive disease.
1. Nutrition
That's achieved with a diet that is low-carb, low-sugar and high in specific fats. you want to have a fasting period and it turns out it's actually critical. You don't want to be eating right before bed. You want to have a fasting period and it turns out it's critical. You don't want to be eating right before bed. You need three hours between finishing dinner and going to bed and twelve hours between finishing your dinner and eating breakfast.
2. Sleep
It’s can be hard and we hear it all the time, but you really need to have seven to eight hours of sleep per night for your brain to get what it needs.
3. Stress
Just going through a normal day can cause a lot of stress for most people, but hings like meditation and yoga can reduce stress, help your cognition and decrease your risk. Find your ZEN and live a happy, healthy life.
