FOX 47’s Yes! Grant is our commitment to bringing communities closer, by encouraging you to share your thoughts and your stories with us.

Another big Part of this program is the Yes! Grant, where each month a mid-Michigan non-profit group is selected for a FOX 47 Yes! Grant of cash and a special promotional campaign.

We are happy to announce out July 2017 recipient, Ele’s Place.

Ele’s place is a healing center for grieving children and teens.

“Ele’s Place was founded 26 years ago after the death of Ele Stover at 11-months-old", said Kate Power, Executive Director of Ele's Place. "She left behind three siblings who were grieving and there was no support in the Lansing area for them to grieve in a healthy way."

We asked Ele’s Place Executive Director Kate Powers to share about the priorities of Ele’s Place.

“We know here at Ele’s Place that 1 in 20 children will experience the death of a parent and that doesn't event account for the number of children who will experience the death of someone else that they love. So we want to ensure that no child grieves alone."

Executive Director Kate Powers believes that the Yes! Grant will give additional program access to more kids and be helpful in promoting their organizational priorities.

“The Yes! Grant will allow us to support two children through out on-site peer support programing for an entire year. Which means that two children in our community will be able to attend Ele's Place at no cost to them."

FOX 47 Community Affairs Coordinator Kevin Brown presented the Yes! Grant to Executive Director Kate Powers. Our congratulations go to Ele’s Place.
