The Kalamazoo Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition is hosting a human trafficking victim provider service training on Friday, June 24 for those who have or may come in contact with victims.

The training will take place at Lawrence Education Center, located on Borgess Medical Center 1521 Gull Road in Kalamazoo.

The topics include introduction to human trafficking, the affect of trauma on the victim, CPS human trafficking protocol, how people get into trafficking situations and the life and mindset of victims, the care needs of labor trafficking victims, and the unconscious belief systems of victims and villains.

According to the Kalamazoo Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition's website, there have been 200 cases worked on by the FBI in 2016 and 62 reported cases to the National Human Resource Center from January to March, 2016. The site also reports that eight in 10 human trafficking victims are female and male cases often are not reported.

Registration for the program is $12 per person. Click here for more information.
