Volunteers were out in force in Lansing Wednesday helping homeowners in need.
The Lansing Board of Water and Light teamed up with Habitat for Humanity for the annual "Rock the Block" event. Volunteers went door-to-door in Lansing's Eastside Neighborhood, helping families with everything from painting to raking leaves.
Habitat for Humanity says the program makes homes safer and more affordable. Volunteer Ron Fuller said, "It's an amazing event and it's so great to be a part of a community event where everybody comes out and helps their neighbors here in this beautiful community in Lansing."
Around 30 volunteers took part in the event.
