HOPKINS, Mich. — Gun Lake Casino has held a fireworks display each year since 2012 in celebration of Independence Day. In 2018, the Village of Hopkins partnered with Gun Lake Casino to host the display and will again host the display this year.
“Each year, the Gun Lake Casino Fireworks Display draws thousands of spectators, with increasing attendance each year,” said Sal Semola, president and chief operating officer for Gun Lake Casino. “Making the move to the Village of Hopkins has allowed for more viewing space and increased safety to all involved and we are thrilled to work with the Village of Hopkins again this year.”
The Village of Hopkins has designated parking and spectator areas throughout the village. The fireworks show will begin at dusk on July 4, and spectators are encouraged to arrive early to allow plenty of time to park and find a designated spectator area. The village will also host family activities, a community parade, and live music throughout the day leading up to the fireworks display.
The Brew WBFX-FM will broadcast a special music match-up to accompany the fireworks show. Spectators will be able to tune into the radio during the show, even if watching the display from outside of the spectator area.
