Ultimate Truck Show Featured at Gilmore Car Museum

Posted
Trucks of all kinds—Vintage, Military, Special Interest, and Custom Trucks, as well as all Emergency Vehicles—are welcome at the Gilmore Car Museum’s Ultimate Truck Show and Swap Meet to be held on Saturday, June 23rd.

The one-day family event runs from 9am to 4pm and is open to all trucks including pickups, commercial trucks, fire trucks, and semi tractors—thus being recognized as the Ultimate Truck show.

“One of the fastest growing segments in the collector vehicle hobby is vintage trucks,” said Museum Executive Director Chris Shires, “and we are excited to honor (feature? Highlight?) them during this event.”

Everyone is sure to enjoy this celebration of the truck and the public is invited to enter their trucks—vintage, show, special interest or custom—in the show on June 23rd.  No pre-registration is required and can be completed upon arrival the day of the show.

Spectator admission to the Ultimate Truck Show is only $14.00 per person and includes all Museum exhibits at no extra charge.  Museum members and those under 11 are FREE! Admission for those exhibiting trucks on the show field is just $10.00 per vehicle and municipalities wanting to exhibit police, fire, or commercial trucks are welcome to do so for free!

While the Gilmore Car Museum is well-known for its 400 vehicles of all eras on display there are also some extraordinary trucks within their exhibits to augment the Ultimate Truck Show’s show field. Visitors will discover the very rare 1907 Cadillac Light Delivery truck within the Cadillac – LaSalle dealership building, a massive 5-ton 1917 truck produced for service during World War 1 by luxury automaker Pierce-Arrow, as well as a 1930 Model A Ford School Bus in the Model A Ford dealership.

The Gilmore Car Museum is located at the corner of M-43 and West Hickory Road in Hickory Corners, just 20 minutes northeast of Kalamazoo.  North America’s largest car museum features nearly 400 collector cars in over two dozen historic buildings and galleries, including a vintage motorcycle gallery, a replica 1930s Shell Station, and a 1941 Diner that is open for business 11am-4pm daily.

The Museum is open from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, and 9am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday. For more information, please visit www.GilmoreCarMuseum.org or call 269-671-5089.
