The Charlotte Varsity Competitive Cheer Team are headed to state finals after placing fourth in regionals yesterday.
Coaches tell us it's the first time in school history that the team has made it this far in competition and they couldn't be prouder.
“This is a goal they've been working for a long time,” said Liz Hoogstra, the assistance coach. “The support of parents and the community has been tremendous, these girls worked their butts off to get where they are."
The Michigan Center Cheer Team is also headed to state finals which are set for next weekend.
