LANSING, Mich. — The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (Tri-County) today announced a partnership with Lansing 5:01 to launch a new digital talent attraction and retention platform that will be the first of its kind for the region. The new web-based platform will act as a one-stop-shop to visually illustrate the amenities and assets of the Greater Lansing area to emerging young professionals and talent.

The platform will be a user-friendly resource for companies and organizations looking to draw and retain talent to “showcase the best of Lansing to Lansing’s future.” The website will host a wealth of information on the diverse lifestyle, career, entertainment, and recreational opportunities available throughout Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties.

“After many conversations with our region’s top employers on the existing hiring practices and lack of resources available to accurately showcase Lansing, the Lansing 5:01 team saw an opportunity to continue the pursuit of our mission – attracting and retaining emerging talent to the region – and fulfill a pressing need in our community by completely transformingwww.Lansing501.com [lansing501.com] into an awe-inspiring landing page for the region. A digital tool that would be used by community partners, company recruiters and more,” said Lansing 5:01 Founder and Executive Director Chris Sell.

Tri-County is contributing $25,000 to the digital platform in support of the agency’s mission to collaborate with regional stakeholders and develop and implement strategies that promote economic vitality throughout the region. Funded through Economic Development Administration planning dollars, this initiative is an investment in our region’s future and works toward creating prosperous, resilient, and thriving communities.

“As the region’s designated Economic Development District, Tri-County is proud to team up with our regional partners and provide financial support to initiatives like these that highlight what our community has to offer,” said Executive Director Jim Snell. “I have no doubt this exciting new platform will be a valuable asset for our region’s businesses and organizations looking to engage fresh talent, strengthening our talent base and bringing economic prosperity to our region.”

The development of this platform is made possible through collaboration with several additional partners, including a financial contribution from Michigan State Federal Credit Union and support from the City of Lansing’s “My Kind of People” campaign. The new platform will make use of the campaign’s style and message that goes hand in hand with Mayor Andy Schor’s views for the city, particularly in making use of Lansing’s existing resources to promote the area as an ideal place to work, play, and live.

“Lansing’s people are our greatest asset. We launched the My Kind of People campaign earlier this year to highlight the diverse, vibrant and unique people who make up our community. We are excited that Lansing 5:01 is taking it to the next level to attract and retain talent in Lansing,” said City of Lansing Mayor Andy Schor.

The digital platform will be located at www.Lansing501.com[lansing501.com] and will launch in the fall of 2019 in advance of Capital Comeback, Lansing 5:01’s annual Thanksgiving Eve talent attraction event. The campaign and platform are being created by Lansing-based creative agency, Redhead Design Studio. After the launch of the website, Lansing 5:01 will invest substantial funds into an advertising campaign for major geographic markets across the country, strategically targeted at prospective talent within connections to Lansing, Michigan State University, and the state of Michigan.
