Thousands of runners laced up their shoes in downtown Lansing Sunday to raise money for breast cancer research.
They were taking part in the "Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure" at Adado Riverfront Park.
It started at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The run helps to raise awareness and funding for cancer research.
Cancer survivors were also there to celebrate life.
For those currently fighting any type of cancer, organizers have an inspiring message.
“"Keep fighting, We are here beside you, next to you, in front of you, behind you,” said Erica Bills, the Executive Director of Komen Michigan. “There will be a cure and we hope to achieve that by getting to our bold goal of reducing breast cancer mortality by 50% by 2026."
Fundraising will stay open until May 23.
