On February 5, 2017, 19 remarkable young women took the stage to compete for a spot as a top 10 contestant for the 2017 Miss Jackson County RoseQueen Scholarship Pageant. The Jackson County Rose Festival is pleased to announce the following young ladies from left to right, top row: Emily Downs, Emily Blakeman, Claire Bourdeaux, Jennifer Holubowicz, Mackenzie Fairbanks, Abbigail Nelson. Bottom row: Celia Napoletano, Jameshia Suddeth, RoseQueen Ashley Sierminski, Morgan Bell and Koyranna Beavers, will compete for the 2017 title. The Pageant focuses on important assets that will help develop long lasting life skills such as outstanding public speaking, commitment to community, poise and leadership. The majority of the scoring will be focused on these areas,” says Lynda Waldron, Executive Director of the RoseQueen Scholarship Pageant.
On Saturday, August 5, 2017, ten contestants will compete at Western High School’s Performance Center to determine who will wear the crown and represent Jackson County at the 2018 Miss Michigan USA pageant. Tickets are available for this year pageant at www.jacksonrosefestival.org. Adult tickets are $12.00, Students ages 5 to 17 are $5.00 and children under the age of 5 are free.
