MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Harris Nature Center, 3998 Van Atta Road in Meridian Township, has launched a new series of events this summer called Music in Nature, which features live music outside and freedom for the audience to move around the park while listening.
The third and final event is Strings and Wood on Saturday September 14th at 5 - 8 pm. They will play on a woodland stage while visitors choose to sit and listen concert-style, walk the trails, picnic or listen from another sitting area in the park. The program is sponsored by the Harris Nature Center Foundation and is free to the public. For more information, contact the Harris Nature Center at hnc@meridian.mi.us or 517.349.3866.
“There’s been a lot of enthusiasm for this live music series,” said Harris Nature Center Foundation President, Jim Buscetta. “People have really enjoyed spending time in nature while listening to great music.”
Strings and Wood is a trio comprised of Kati Adams, Matt Foreman and LeRoy Harvey. Matt is known locally as lead vocals and guitar for the Mama Tryd Band, and LeRoy is a member of the popular group Whoa Nelly. While Kati may be best known as the Senior Park Naturalist for Harris Nature Center, visitors will discover she has a hidden talent when they hear her beautiful voice.
