The Capital Area Down Syndrome Association is pleased to announce registration is open for their 15 th annual 1 milk walk/5k run! Spartans Will. Step Up for Down Syndrome will be held on October 13th on the beautiful campus of Michigan State University.

Capital Area Down Syndrome Association’s mission is to support people with Down syndrome and their families in the Mid-Michigan area by providing resources, education, programs and advocacy opportunities. Our goal is to enhance the lives of people living with Down syndrome, help them to reach their full potential, and be recognized as valued members of the community.

“Our child loves attending CADSA karate classes and Club21plus activities with his friends,” said Janice Frankovich, CADSA board member. “They also help parents on a similar journey connect and share resources and support.”

Funds raised will go to help CADSA provide scholarships, programs, education, advocacy, and outreach to individuals with Down syndrome and their families in our Mid-Michigan Community! Thanks to generous donors we have been able to give educational scholarships to CADSA members to pay for some awesome camps, medical equipment, and assistive technology! We served 1,975 attendees last year at CADSA. Some of the activities included karate, soccer, music therapy, Playtime Pals classes for young children, Club21plus events like bowling, and the family celebration at our Annual Harvest Dance.

Persons interested in “Stepping Up” to help create opportunities for children and adults with Down syndrome are encouraged to visit the website www.cadsa.org or contact our office 517-333-6655. Happy Down syndrome awareness month.
