A cashier at a Dollar General store in Lansing has made an appearance on "Good Morning America" after a video of him singing to customers went viral.

The original video, posted by a Facebook user named Nakia Robinson on Nov. 8, shows 26-year-old Lucas Holiday singing "Ascension" by R&B singer Maxwell while operating the store's cash register.

The Facebook video has been shared more than 13,000 times and viewed about 625,000 times.

During the TV appearance Monday, Holiday received a message from Maxwell, who invited him to join the musician on stage during his concert stop in suburban Detroit this Friday. Holiday immediately accepted the request.

Holiday says he is a singer in a local funk band known as Tell Yo Mama.
