OKEMOS, Mich. — Superheroes are putting on their capes for the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan’s annual Run for the House. Delta Dental is hosting the 5K, 10K and Kids’ Races on Saturday, March 23, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Okemos, Michigan.

The superheroes will spread their light by kicking off this year’s run, including a family-friendly 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run, as well as a Kids’ Mile and Kids’ Sprint.

“Our primary focus at the House is to ensure families and kids can receive the help they need, and to help people understand it’s a place of strength and support,” said Carolyn Hurst, Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan’s executive director. “We want to celebrate with our community all our families have conquered and recognize the superheroes they all are.”

Throughout Prematurity Awareness Month in 2018, the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan highlighted five superheroes, the challenges they faced and superpowers gained, hoping to spread their stories to others around the world. Now our supers will take flight at the Run.

Run for the House helps bring awareness about the House and raises dollars for families with ill children to stay close while receiving nearby medical care. And even superheroes’ need support.

“Thanks to our runners, our corporate partners, our House superheroes and their families the Run helps raise tens of thousands of dollars to help support the next generation of superheroes,” said Hurst.

Sponsors for this year are: Delta Dental, Foster Swift, Coca Cola, Adams Outdoor Advertising, Playmakers, MSU Federal Credit Union, Auto Owners, Independent Bank, Spartan Motors, Come Clean Duathlon, Eagle Eye, Adams, Paramount Coffee, Emergent BioSolutions, Greater Lansing Area Race Series, Granger, Hawk Hollow, Meridian Township Fire, Fairfield Inn of Okemos, Maner Costerisan, Siena Wealth Advisors, Two Men and A Truck, Spartan Barricade, Woody’s Oasis, Mountain Bike Michigan and McDonald’s.

Last year’s race raised over $58,000 to support Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan and to provide a home-away-from-home to Mid-Michigan families and beyond.

Registration is available online through race day, Saturday, March 23. Registration will also be available in person at packet pickup at Playmakers on Friday, March 22 and on race day at Delta Dental on Saturday, March 23.
