LANSING, Mich. — Come fly away with Riverwalk Theatre as director Brian Farnham takes you on a journey over land, air, and sea in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Based on the 1968 film of Ian Fleming’s fantastical children’s book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang tells the story of a magical car which touches the lives of Jeremy (Phineas Reed) and Jemima (Isabella Edmonds-Hogan) Potts, children of struggling inventor Caractacus Potts (Ben Holzhausen). Together, the family embarks on an adventure that is as introspective as it is wonderous.

Production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang required an unprecedented, all-star lineup of talent, crew, and outside local support. In addition to the 23 adult cast members, six children will perform under Farnham in his directorial debut; six Lansing entities, including Impression 5 Science Center and the R.E. Olds Museum, contributed to the process which required importing a special flying car from Toronto, Ontario.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang expands the limits of imagination and self in this family-oriented musical. How will the Potts family outwit the fiendish Baron Bomburst and his evil partner, the Child Catcher? The answer can be found at Riverwalk Theatre, beginning January 24.
