Reading is it's own reward, but sometimes kids need a little extra incentive. That's why the principal of Resurrection School in Lansing offered to spend the day on the roof if the students managed to read for a combined 100,000 minutes in March.
Since they succeeded, we asked if he'd be willing do it again.
"We'll continue this in some capacity. I don't know if the goals will be the same," said Jacob Allstott, Resurrection School principal. "I'm a little nervous. You can see that the other roofs are much taller, so hopefully we don't go that far."
The students each needed to read for 650 minutes in March to hit that goal. That comes out to a little more than 20 minutes per night.
