It's not often that you see a decorated police car. But East Lansing Police Department pranked their neighbors by wrapping pink streamers around a Bath police cruiser, putting notes on the windshield that said "I heart ELPD" and their own personal touch.

"It wouldn't be an East Lansing police prank without parking ticket," laughs the officer in the video.

The police departments took digs at the other. The East Lansing police saying there's a lot of country in Bath, while the Bath TWP Police Department poked fun at East Lansing for their stoplights and stop signs.

Police at both departments say they had tons of fun putting the videos together, but it serves a greater purpose too.

"I think the goal with videos like that is to show the community that law enforcement, we're not just robots," explains lieutenant Steve Gonzalez of ELPD, "we're actually humans and we like to have fun."

East Lansing police say they're new to the social media game, and they're modelling their page after Bath's. In part because Bath police have gotten praise for their page.

A person messaged Bath saying: "a friend of mine showed me your guys' page and you guys are doing a great job of humanizing officers."

"That's exactly what we're going for," says officer Avery Lyon of Bath TWP Police Department.

The prank videos for both have done just that, reaching hundreds of thousands of people.

But for now, the battle will continue about who won.
