Paul Davis of Ann Arbor, a leading provider of water, fire and mold damage cleanup, mitigation and restoration services for residential and commercial properties, presented a check donation of $30,000 to Helping Area Response Teams (HART) in Huron Valley. On Monday, July 8, the formal funding presentation was held with Paul Davis and local business leaders, government officials and first responders at Peach Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor.
HART Huron Valley was established in 2014 and became a nonprofit in 2016 as a nonpartisan organization that provides on-site support services to emergency responders in Washtenaw County. The organization provides basic conveniences such as snacks, water, and a warm place to rest while helping to reduce the risks of injury and improve the morale of local emergency responders on the job.
The program’s formation was made possible by support from local fire chiefs and the Washtenaw County Mutual Aid Association (WAMAA) along with Peace Lutheran Church. With the generous donation of a retired ambulance from Huron Valley Ambulance, HART is equipped with an outfitted vehicle that can arrive at the scene of a call to provide much needed services to emergency responders. HART relies on the support of sponsors, community members, and volunteers to serve and assist those who work hard to keep the community safe.
The HART truck is a 2009 diesel-powered ambulance donated by Huron Valley Ambulance that has been customized to meet the needs of the program. It transports volunteers, supplies, and equipment including a generator, coffee brewer, and microwave.
Paul Davis supports WAMAA and HART with annual donations to benefit local first responders including monetary contributions, pet masks, caution tape, volunteers, and supplies for open house events, fundraisers and others.
“We are pleased to provide financial assistance for a worthy cause which helps first responders. These local heroes experience many challenges while on the job and we’re pleased to help make their lives more comfortable when and where possible,” said Michelle Milliken, Paul Davis’ Marketing Manager.
“The beneficiaries of the donation are first responders specifically in Washtenaw County. The funding ensures that HART has equipment, supplies and tools to assist volunteers when they are called to an emergency response scene and as they help fire, EMS and law enforcement professionals,” she said. The Paul Davis restoration office is a Diamond Sponsor of HART by donating the $30,000 over the next three years.
