Some local families have food on the table, thanks to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
On Wednesday, the organization had boxes ready to go for people in need at the Lake Lansing Meijer store.
Summer can be a tough time for families that rely on free school breakfasts and lunches.
'We have a mobile food pantry that we'll do, Saturday, and that's for the overall community, seniors, no single individual is eligible. We'll do this three times during summer months, times that have been designated as low food times in our community," said Director of Humane Relations Joan Jackson Johnson.
People can take advantage of food banks, but they don't offer fresh food or meat.
Organizers say if you know kids and seniors who may need food this summer reach out and make sure they're getting fed.
