OLIVET, Mich. — On April 27, 2019, the Olivet College community will gather for the third annual Reverse Raffle at Cutler Event Center, 9049 S. Marshall Rd., Olivet, at 5 p.m. The event benefits Comet athletics, while also giving attendees the opportunity to win great prizes. In addition to the main raffle, there will also be a silent auction, 50/50 raffles, small board betting, a “horse race” featuring OC coaching and more.
“The Reverse Raffle is a great way to visit with friends, alumni and student-athletes,” Bill Stockberger, director of the Comet Club, said. “It’s an excellent opportunity to see OC in a different light while also supporting OC athletics.”
Tickets for the event are $75 and include dinner. Additional dinner tickets can be purchased for $25 each. Attendees must be 18 years of age to purchase a ticket. 300 tickets must be sold to award the grand prize. If fewer than 300 tickets are sold, the grand prize will be 10 percent of gross proceeds. Winners need not be present to win the grand prize. Winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes due.
“I love this event because we get to spend time with alumni in a fun social environment that isn't during a competition,” said Brandon Brissette, head wrestling coach. “We all get to share in the stories, games and laughs that night, while supporting the progression of our athletic department.”
Ryan Shockey, athletic director, also emphasizes the importance of the event.
“The Reverse Raffle has been great not only in its ability to raise funds for the department of athletics but the event has also proven to be a great time of fellowship amongst current Olivet staff members and alumni,” Shockey said. “Attendance at the Reverse Raffle allows those with a common interest in Olivet College athletics to come together and reminisce on their time here as well as be informed about the future of our department and the great things our coaches and student-athletes are doing.” To learn more about the Reverse Raffle, visit www.olivetcomets.com/reverse_raffle or contact Bill Stockberger at 269.749.6691 or wstockberger@olivetcollege.edu.
