Noodles & Company Becomes First Fast-Casual Restaurant to Introduce Cauliflower-infused Noodles Nationwide

Restaurant also removes fountain drinks from kids’ menu options to expand healthy dining options

LANSING, Mich. — Grand Rapids-based Pasta Per Trio, the Michigan franchisee of Noodles & Company (Noodles) (NASDAQ:NDLS), known for serving noodle and zoodle dishes from around the world, today announced a new noodle innovation that’s here to stay, Caulifloodles. The cauliflower-infused noodle will be a permanent addition to the Noodles menu and guests can substitute Caulifloodles into any dish on the menu at no additional cost.

Caulifloodles will be available beginning September 25 in two new limited-time-only seasonal dishes, the Cauliflower Rigatoni in Light Onion Cream Sauce and the Cauliflower Rigatoni Fresca with Shrimp.

  • Cauliflower Rigatoni in Light Onion Cream Sauce: Cauliflower-infused rigatoni in light onion cream sauce with roasted zucchini, mushrooms and spinach, finished with MontAmoré cheese and parsley
  • Cauliflower Rigatoni Fresca with Shrimp: Cauliflower-infused rigatoni sautéed with shrimp, balsamic vinaigrette, olive oil and roasted garlic, mixed with red onion, tomato and spinach, topped with Parmesan cheese

“Cauliflower is an excellent source of key vitamins and nutrients and is a great addition to any diet,” said Tom Shephard, Vice President of Pasta Per Trio. “With the expansion of our Zoodles and Other Noodles category, we’re able to offer even more healthy choices for everyone in the family, no matter their dietary needs.”

Also beginning September 25, Noodles & Company will remove fountain drinks as an option from the kid’s menu panel and replace them with selections including organic juices and milk to ensure healthy options are easy and accessible. Noodles & Company is committed to nourishing and inspiring every guest, including children, and the change will feature choices that are better for guests’ lifestyles.

“We want to encourage families to make healthy choices and enjoy delicious food,” continued Shepherd. “At Noodles, we don’t want our guests to have to compromise, which is why we’ve updated our kid’s beverage options to make the decision easy.”

Best of all, guests can also rack up points in the new NoodlesREWARDS platform. The new points-based system is available on the Noodles mobile app and website and will noodle lovers to earn special deals and freebies as they earn points. The new REWARDS program will make it even easier and faster for guests to earn free food.

Guests can enjoy Caulifloodles and the entire Noodles menu by visiting the Lansing area Noodles & Company locations on East Grand River and West Grand River in Okemos.
