EAST LANSING, Mich. — Since opening its doors in 1937, MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) has made giving back to the community a priority. Today, it announces that it is taking that commitment to a new level.
MSUFCU is pleased to introduce the Desk Drawer Fund, a foundation supporting the MSUFCU and Oakland University Credit Union (OU Credit Union) communities. OU Credit Union is a trade name of MSUFCU.
“The Desk Drawer Fund was established to further our dedication to our local communities,” said Whitney Anderson-Harrell, Desk Drawer Fund Executive Director. “MSUFCU has always embodied a culture of philanthropy, and we will continue to lead the way in encouraging investment in our community. We are excited to empower those in our community to achieve their goals and dreams."
The Desk Drawer Fund will provide support for numerous initiatives across the sectors of five identified pillars to support organizations within the communities where the Credit Union operates. The aim is to fund as many local organizations as possible to impact the maximum number of community members. The five philanthropic pillars are: Arts & Culture; Stable Housing; Empowering Youth; Financial Education; and Fostering Entrepreneurialism.
“Establishing the Desk Drawer Fund helps expand our philanthropic impact in areas vital to vibrant communities,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU’s President/CEO. “With the support of our MSUFCU and OU Credit Union communities, we will continue fulfilling our core value of giving back where our employees and members live and work.”
Everyone is invited to contribute to the Desk Drawer Fund by visiting deskdrawerfund.org or by stopping by any MSUFCU or OU Credit Union branch. By empowering members, employees, businesses, and residents to invest in their local communities, the Desk Drawer Fund aims to improve communities and make a positive difference.
