To bring joy to less fortunate children and spread hope through toys, the Michigan State Police Jackson Post will be holding a Toys for Tots drive on Saturday.
Troopers from the MSP Jackson Post will team up with personnel from the Jonesville Fire Department and the Jonesville Police Department to hold their annual toy drive at the Walmart in Jonesville. The drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Residents can bring or purchase a new, unwrapped toy to drop off in the Toys for Tots collection boxes located inside of the store. All toys collected will remain in Hillsdale County and are distributed to children in the community.
Police cars and fire trucks will also be at the toy drive.
For new applicants who want to receive and register for Christmas Assistance can do so at the Salvation Army located at 160 E. Bacon Street in Hillsdale County. Dec. 1 is the final day to register.
Pre-registration is a new requirement for the Toys for Tots program, and must be completed to receive toys.
