The Williamston Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Friends of Williamston Parks Thursday, May 26th, 2016 at 6:30pm. The celebration was for the grand reopening of wooden play structure in McCormick Park following the installation of nearly $20,000 in new and upgraded equipment.
“From the fundraising raffle to the equipment installation, this has been a true community effort,” stated FOWP leader Jill Cutshaw. “We are so pleased with the positive response to the new equipment and other upgrades to the wooden play structure.”
City officials, area businesses and park volunteers gathered as Heather Galecka cut the ribbon.
Following the celebration the Williamston Concerts at the Shell series kicked off with the Williamston High School Jazz Band at 7 p.m.
