Nearly two dozen volunteers helped put together a benefit concert Saturday night to help raise funds for those affected by recent hurricanes.
The event was held at the Michigan Theatre in Jackson and featured nine local bands.
The concert took about three weeks of planning.
For one organizer seeing the damage caused by hurricanes Irma, Harvey and Maria hit's very close to home.
"I was in hurricane Andrew in 1992, so I’ve seen firsthand what a major hurricane will do and the devastation it will cause,” said Aaron Childs, the concert organizer. “So it's kind of personal to me, so that was the reason for organizing this concert."
All proceeds will go to the Jackson United Way's general hurricane fund.
