On November 5th 2017 The Salon Professional Academy, located in nearby Holland, was awarded the Community Service of the Year Award at the annual Salon Professional Education Company(SPEC) award banquet.
“Living a fruitful life includes giving back. We strive to positively impact others by giving back to our community. Helping those in need is what we are called to do.” - Rachel Harned, Owner of TSPA Holland
Each year SPEC network campuses gather to recognize schools in the network that have exceeded expectations in service and education. This year, The Salon Professional Academy(TSPA), Holland was recognized for their tremendous support and outreach in their community and was awarded the Community Service of the Year Award for their efforts.
Their support of their neighborhoods extends beyond the quality training they provide to students but also through their work with the community. Since their opening in November of 2016, the school, including staff and students, have joined forces to provide teens aging out of foster care free haircuts to prepare for college and job interviews. In addition, they have worked with Share Your Heart for the Holidays to provide Christmas for families with children undergoing heart surgeries and transplants. They have also provided services for events for Girls on the Run, Be Nice, and Kids Food Basket. TSPA Holland has made community work a focus, dedicated to supporting their community, and teaching their students the importance of giving back.
