Local children "Shop with a Hero," get a ride in a police car

Posted

You may have heard about "shop with a hero" holiday shopping programs with local police this year, but this one that took place Tuesday in Charlotte was a little different.

Members of the Michigan State Police Training Division picked up ten local school children from school.

Children were from the Eaton Rapids, Grand Ledge, Vermontville and Charlotte public school district.

The students were then taken in patrol cars to the MSP training academy in Lansing.

They received a tour and a chance to eat lunch with a trooper before going shopping at the Charlotte Walmart.

"Shop With A Hero" was made possible by a donation provided by the Walmart Foundation.
