The Lansing School District has taken the first steps towards putting students on a career path in the biotech industry.
It broke ground at the Fairview STEM Magnet School on Wednesday. The new K-6 building will be a biotech center.
The Superintendent told us even the most creative teachers can only do so much with outdated buildings and equipment.
Students in the biotech pathway will move across the street to Eastern High School when they start 7th grade.
The money for the center is coming out of the $120 million bond voters passed one year ago.
