Lansing Regional Chamber Announces Promotion of Vice President of Public Affairs

LANSING, Mich. — The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce today announced the promotion of Steve Japinga to vice president of public affairs. The new public affairs department consolidates the public policy, government relations, marketing and communications functions for the Chamber. “Steve has demonstrated great leadership in his years at the Chamber,” said Tim Daman, LRCC president and CEO. “We believe this new department will give us the ability to continue to execute our mission to help businesses connect, grow and thrive, while empowering our team to build a better Chamber, a stronger community and a more vibrant region.”

In his new role, Japinga will continue to lead the Chamber’s government relations and public policy department and the Lansing Regional Chamber-Political Action Committee efforts. In addition, Japinga will lead the Chamber’s marketing and communications team in developing and executing communications strategies including the Chamber's monthly publication, FOCUS Magazine, media relations, social and digital media, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications.
