In modern day manufacturing no part - whether it's a bolt or a bumper - is ever made until it's made first on a computer.
At LCC they have state of the art computer software. They showed us some of that equipment as they celebrate Manufacturing Week in Michigan.
With this software they're able to create a 3D part and run simulated tests on it to make sure it's mechanically and structurally sound. Students who master this program have careers waiting for them in a variety of industries.
The companies in Lansing all have one thing in common - they need to produce quality parts that are tested first on a computer program before any money is spent on producing them in a factory.
