MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Every day is an adventure for campers when they attend the Outdoor Adventures Camp at the Harris Nature Center, 3998 Van Atta Road the week of July 9th-12th. Camp meets at 9 am-3 pm on Tuesday-Thursday and 4-10 pm on Friday so kids can explore the park at night, make supper and enjoy a campfire. The fee for this camp is $125. All campers will receive a camp tee shirt. Campers must bring a sack lunch and should dress for the weather. For more information, contact hnc@meridian.mi.us or 517.349.3866.
“The Outdoor Adventures Camp is specifically designed for children going into the 4th-6th grades,” said Senior Park Naturalist Kati Adams. “Activities such as archery, tracking, use of a GPS unit and compass, fire building and survival skills help children become comfortable with being in nature for long stretches of time.”
The camp will also include games and nature activities and is repeated on July 30th- August 2nd. Registration for all Nature Camps is ongoing.
