LANSING, Mich. — The Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS) will be one of over 1,000 shelters participating in the nationwide “Clear the Shelters” adoption event to get pets adopted and into new homes. Animals will have reduced fees for one day only. This event will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17 and will end at 5 p.m. Don’t miss this chance to save more lives, and help CAHS clear their shelter.
WHAT: CAHS will be offering fee-waived adoptions for adult cats (5-months and older) and long-stay adult dogs, $25 for kittens, and $50 for all adult dogs (5-months and older). Now is the purr-fect time to add a new furry friend to your home.
WHEN: “Clear the Shelters” takes place on Saturday, August 17 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

WHY: To promote cat and dog adoptions and raise awareness of the mission of the Capital Area Humane Society.
HOW: Come to the shelter on Saturday, August 17 between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Don’t wait, as pets will be adopted quickly.
Their standard adoption approval process applies to all adoptions. Please bring photo ID, household members who should meet the pet, a dog collar and leash, and/or a cat carrier (temporary carriers will be available to purchase of $5). Please note that puppies will not have reduced fees during this event.
