With more than 40 rides and attractions, not to mention one of the largest midways of any fair, there is a lot to do.
The Ionia Free Fair is getting ready to kick off this Thursday, July 14 and goes through July 23rd. There will be some favorites, and some new attractions this year.
Becca Usher, Ionia Free Fair’s manager, said Jimmy Riffle from Animal Planet’s ‘Gator Boys,’ will be at the fair every day. He will have two shows each weekday, and three shows on the weekends.
Other entertainment acts include the Amazing Arthur, 20 Ride - a Zac Brown Tribute Band, The Rock Show - a Journey tribute band and Buffett Fest, featuring the Last Mangos.
There are also the Ionia Free Fair classics, like the rodeo, monster truck show at the Grand Stands.
Also, at the beer garden, there will be a Brew Fest at the Beer Garden, and coming back is the Miracle of Life exhibit.
The Miracle of Life has animals that are expecting to deliver during the fair, which as Usher said, “It is pretty cool.”
Usher explained that in the past, they have had eggs hatch, goats and other animals give birth.
