Michigan's largest vertical sundial found a home in mid-Michigan.
The Impression 5 Science Center in downtown Lansing, unveiled this beautiful working piece of art last Thursday.
The sundial is part of the new Planet Walk Plaza, which is an interactive space at the center which pays tribute to the power of the sun.
It also kicks off Planet Walk, a 5 1/2 mile scaled journey which is celebrating 25 years. The walk represents the relative location of all the planets in the solar system.
We talked to the Erik Larson, the Executive Director of Impressions 5 Museum, at the unveiling about the purpose and significance of the sundial.
He contributed much of its success to one of the designers, Tom Goodman, who passed unexpectedly the week before.
