Holt Community members raised cash to help buy a service dog for Holt's Varsity wrestling coach who is suffering from severe diabetes.

Coach Rocky Shaft was presented with a check Thursday night for $20,809. Community members held a comedy, magic & hypnosis show/fundraiser a couple of weeks ago in the school's auditorium to help raise the cash to buy the service dog for Coach Shaft. The dog will cost about $22,000 and the coach now has the majority of the money.

Shaft says the dog is coming from Indiana and is currently in training. He says once school is out, he too will train with his new dog. Shaft has been with the Holt School District for more than 40-years.
