Hidden Talents Workshop celebrates diversity in Lansing

Posted

Focusing on someone's ability and not their disability, that was the message today at the Hidden Talents Workshop in Lansing.

Lt. Gov. Brian Calley and Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein were the minds behind the conference. They encouraged employers to hire people with disabilities and inspire the entire workplace.

They put together a lineup of inspirational speakers, including baseball start Jim Abbott. He talked about his struggles and successes growing up with a disability.

Abbott said he wouldn't be where he is today if people hadn't seen his possibility rather than his disability.
