The Volunteers of America held it's annual Stand Down for Homeless Veterans event on Wednesday.
The idea is to get groups together in one spot to help them with everything from health screenings and government benefits to haircuts.
Right now, around 5-percent of the Lansing area's homeless population are veterans. Organizers say they've cut that number down a lot over the years.
While many of the days services were also open to non-veterans, some were strictly for service members.
The Volunteers of America worked with the city and the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs to put the event on.
