The young men and women of the Everett High School marching band are getting ready for their trip to Washington to perform in Donald Trump's inaugural festivities.

We caught up with them as they rehearsed at the school on Thursday.

One drummer told us band members are tired of being pressured to stay home by people who don't like the president-elect.

"Well a lot of people are kind of offended cause they think we're supporting someone they don't life, but you know we're really glad just to have an opportunity to go and play in front of so many people and to go to D.C.," said Kira Rivet. "We get to sight-see, not only play, but we get to see things we've never even seen before. Some people haven't even been out of the state, so I think it's a good experience for everybody that's going."

The band will be playing at the welcome celebration in front of the Lincoln Memorial on January 19.

They'll play two songs they already know. They also have to learn "You're A Grand Old Flag" in the next two weeks.
