The Greater Lansing Food Bank is teamed up with Troppo to put on a luncheon for Empty Bowls.

For a $20 donation, people can pick a handmade bowl made by members of the Greater Lansing Potter's Guild, Clayworks Pottery and other local artisans - and of course, fill it up with soup.

A meal of soup, bread and water will be served. The event is taking place on October 13 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Troppo's downtown location on 111 E. Michigan Avenue in Lansing.

“The Empty Bowls event reminds us that too many of our neighbors struggle with hunger,” says Joe Wald, Executive Director of Greater Lansing Food Bank. “Support for Greater Lansing Food Bank fills up bowls throughout the year.”

All proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
